Ciara is losing weight quickly after giving birth to her daughter Sienna. And she's documenting the changes in her body on Instagram.
The new mom welcomed a baby girl in April and is determined to shed the pounds. She took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal her latest weight loss goal. “I said I wasn't going to gain 60lbs Carrying Sienna, and... I did exactly that,” she captioned a pic of her feet on a scale that read 178.6. “4 weeks after her birth I lost 20 lbs. This Weeks Goal is 10lbs. I was 183 yesterday. #BounceBack #LevelUp.”
No doubt the 31-year-old, who is married to NFL star Russell Wilson, will be showing off a slim figure in no time. She already lost the baby weight after welcoming son Future Jr. with ex-fiancé Future in 2014. Just eight months after giving birth, the beauty showed off her sculpted abs in a Calvin Klein suit and crop top at The Daily Front Row Fashion Los Angeles Awards.
At the time, Ciara admitted that she was obsessed with losing the weight. To get back in shape, she worked out at least twice a day and had a strict diet plan. “I had to wait six weeks after I gave birth to my son, and as soon as the doctor said, ‘You can go,’ I went,” she said. “I trained two times a day. I had a meal plan delivered to my door every day, where it was about the good carbs and the good fibers. I just went hard for it. I literally was like a zombie!”
To help her get toned, the “I Bet” singer turned to celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson who focused on doing exercises like a plyometric cardio circuit training that included boxing. They would also do a series of toning moves like intervals, squats, lunges, overhead presses, rowing, push-ups, mountain climbers, crunches and jumps.
While it sounds intense, Gunnar promised Ciara wasn’t going overboard. “When you say she’s working out every day, that sounds like it’s crazy but it’s not,” Peterson told People. “It’s a ritual. She’s showering every day too. She’s not destroying herself. She’s working hard, she’s getting it done. She’s eating properly, she’s getting sleep while she can, and so she’s getting leaner and stronger. That’s the best way to be the best mom.”
In fact, Ciara adored working out and never saw it as punishment. “I love it!” she said. “I couldn’t wait to work out after my pregnancy. I was like, please tell me I can go back. Something about working out makes me feel like I can conquer anything and makes me ready to face the world.”
Wilson's wife also watched her diet after giving birth the first time. She would have an egg-white omelet with spinach and turkey, as well as fruit and wheat toast for breakfast and a chocolate Ensure protein shake as a snack. She also drank a gallon of water every day! She would eat small meals throughout the day instead of a huge dinner.
While she hasn’t revealed if she’s following the same plan this time around, it’s clear it worked after giving birth to Future Zahir.
