Kate Middleton is nearing the end of her third trimester, which means there is only a few weeks left until the birth of Britain’s newest royal! That’s right, in just a couple of days Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge will welcome their first born into the world in the most traditional way possible.
Although the royal family has heavily relied on technology and social media in the past to connect with Britain, Duchess Kate and Prince William are taking the road less traveled (and more traditional) by announcing the birth of their baby on a wooden easel. The easel will then be placed on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace to which then the news can flood the Twittersphere. "The announcement will be tweeted but not until after the formal printed notification has been positioned,” OMG Yahoo reported.
Where did this tradition come from? According to People magazine that his how Prince William’s birth was announced on June 1982. In fact today would mark the wooden easel’s 31 anniversary of being placed outside the palace. So we believe a “Happy Birthday” is in order!
According to reports the Prince is celebrating his birthday in the most effortless fashion in Alnmouth. Prince William arrived to the village in Northumberland this weekend to honor a close friend who is getting married. In fact all eyes will be on the bride, Lady Melissa Percy, as Prince William stood in the background as the best man!
And the Prince of Cambridge really is the best. Despite being second in line to the throne the William made sure to show his humility as he carried his own luggage in casual wear. Even in jeans, a blue button up and red, white and blues sneakers this soon-to-be dad looks absolutely handsome. Kate is one lucky girl! Although the brunette beauty couldn’t accompany her husband the Prince of Cambridge was instead joined by his equally as charming younger and single brother, Harry.
“Prince William was chatty, smiling and in good form as he arrived for the wedding," a source said regarding the Prince’s behavior during the nuptials. But how could he not be in a good mood when he’s so close to becoming a father! Totally exciting! "This is the birth of the third in line to the throne so it is very important. It is an extremely important occasion," an insider added.
Reports suggest that Prince William is so excited for the arrival of his baby that he’s even helping with the preparation for the nursery! What color do you think the Princess and Prince of Cambridge are painting their baby’s room? Pink? Blue? Perhaps the couple will go from a gender-neutral color seeing as the sex of their baby has been decided by the couple to be a surprise!
