Krystal Nielson and Kendall Long went on a dreaded two-on-one date on this week's Bachelor in Paris. And all the other women were hoping Krystal would be eliminated.
The Bachelor began with the women arriving in the romantic city. They got to stay on a ship. Arie, meanwhile, checked in with Chris Harrison. He was realizing how hard it was to choose and he was falling in love with more than one woman.
Chris then told the women there would be four dates: Two one-on-one dates, a group date, and a two-on-one date. And Krystal knew she’d be on the two-on-one date. They got the first date card, and found out that Lauren Burnham would be getting the first one-on-one date. Arie immediately came to get her, and the other women were super-jealous.
While Arie and Lauren walked around a market and explored, Tia Booth and Kendall wondered if Laruen would be able to open up enough. And it’s true. Lauren was pretty quiet. Arie actually wondered if Lauren was even into him.
Back on the boat, the women got the next Bachelor date card and found out Becca Kufrin, Seinne Fleming, Bekah Martinez, Tia, Chelsea Roy, and Jenna Cooper got the group date.
Arie and Lauren, meanwhile, headed into the night part of their date and Arie was pretty concerned about Lauren’s inability to open up. Lauren admitted she was overwhelmed and that she was feeling a lot of pressure. All her serious relationships started with her putting guys in the friend zone because she can’t open up until she trusts somebody.
Arie brought up a previous serious relationship with a woman he lived with and had two kids. His girlfriend got pregnant, but they fought over his racing career and she lost the baby and left him. So he understood how it could be had to trust somebody.
Lauren explained that parents have been together for over 30 years, but they had a hard marriage and she felt like she was in the middle, and that warped her view of men and relationships. Plus, she was engaged and her ex started treating her poorly once she got a ring. She was scared she wouldn’t open up enough. But Arie said they had plenty of time. Then he gave her her rose.
Arie and the women then went on a Moulin Rouge group date. They got to learn a dance and everyone was super into it except Tia. They then all got their incredible costumes. But then they found out that whoever won the group date rose got to go on stage and dance with Arie. So the pressure was on.
Arie and the women went on to the cocktail party of the group date and everyone was hoping to get that rose. Arie said the rose would be based on their connections. He then pulled Tia aside. She felt good about their relationship, but still compared herself to others, but he reassured her.
Bekah also said this was the first week she actually got jealous, but she saw a future with him. And Seinne said she felt strong about their connection. Finally, Arie gave the group date rose to Bekah. So he and Bekah got to dance on stage together while the others watched. Chelsea was feeling jealous.
The women then got their next date card. Kendall and Krystal got the two-on-one date. Krystal was feeling super-confident, but all the women were praying Kendall would walk away with the rose. This meant Jacqueline Trumbull got the one-on-one date.
Krystal and Kendall met Arie at an amazing chateau in the French countryside, which was beautiful. Arie was still conflicted about Krystal’s meltdown, but Kendall hadn’t been in love or a long-term relationship yet. Arie hid in a maze and Krystal and Kendall had to find him. Krystal, of course, found him first.
After they all had a drink, Arie pulled Krystal aside first. This was Krystal’s last chance after last week’s drama. Arie had told Krystal to come to him if something bothered her, but she didn’t do that. She talked about him and questioned his character instead. Krystal said that they shouldn’t get caught up in the fantasy and work through their problems, but he reiterated that she didn’t come to him.
Krystal apologized and said she didn’t want to throw away the color, texture, and depth of their relationship. She knew he took a chance on her and she was grateful and she trusted him. Arie wound up feeling a lot better. But then Krystal said she was surprised why Kendall was on the date and mentioned Kendall hadn’t been in love and wasn’t ready to fall in love and get married. It was pretty harsh.
Arie told Kendall what Krystal said and asked if she was ready for marriage. She said there wasn’t a specific time she would be ready for marriage; it’s about finding the right person that you can see loving and marrying. Kendall was so upset by what Krystal said. She soon confronted her. Kendall said Krystal didn’t know about her but acted like she did and that she was just acting cornered.
Kendall said she dated someone like Krystal, who said hurtful things when faced with conflict. Saying something hurtful doesn’t mean you win, she said, it means you hurt somebody. Then Kendall said she empathized with Krystal and that she’d been through a lot. Krystal feels controlled, but she shouldn’t control everything and should just let go and be imperfect. It was really intense.
Arie then came back and said that he needed more time and couldn’t make his decision. So he left Krystal and Kendall until dinner. Krystal was pissed.
Krystal, Kendall, and Arie then went on to the evening portion of the date on The Bachelor. Before Arie came, Krystal and Kendall went at one another at the table. Though they were dressed up in a beautiful setting it felt like they needed a boxing ring.
Arie arrived, and Krystal talked about how “indescribable,” “magical” and “worth it” the journey had been. Listening to the words come out of her mouth was pretty cringe-worthy. Then Arie pulled Kendall aside while the women back on the boat speculated about what would happen.
As Bekah said, nobody thought Trump would win. So anything could happen. Arie and Kendall came back and Arie immediately grabbed the rose. And he gave the rose to Kendall! Arie said goodbye to Krystal and left with Kendall to check out the Eifel Tower. Krystal was shocked and so upset. The others, though, were so happy Krystal was gone and started popping champagne.
Finally, it was time for Jacqueline’s one-on-one date with Arie. Jacqueline was really nervous. They drove in an awesome convertible, but it broke down within ten minutes. They made it to a store, though, and went shopping for a fabulous evening gown. Nevertheless, she admitted to Arie that she was kind of insecure. Because she hadn't gotten a one-on-one date early on she felt like she wasn't one of Arie's favorites.
Arie confessed he was intimidated by her and that he felt she was too smart for him at first. Jacqueline said she still needed to finish her PhD, which took six years. Arie said he could see himself falling for her, but he was worried about their lives not working together after all this. He’d been in a relationship where he held someone back because they were scared to pursue their dreams because they were scared they’d lose him.
It was a burden for both of them and he didn’t want to do that again. Jacqueline got really upset. It didn’t look like it at first, but Arie wound up giving Jacqueline the rose!
The women then went to meet Arie for the rose ceremony. There apparently was no cocktail party this week on The Bachelor. Arie gave roses to Tia, Seinne, and Becca. So Chelsea and Jenna went home. Arie said goodbye to Chelsea privately. Then Arie announced they were going to Tuscany. Arie left, but then Lauren started having a meltdown.
Here were five of the most shocking moments from The Bachelor:
1. The Women Got A Moulin Rouge Group Date
Week 6 of The Bachelor was in Paris, which meant there were some amazing Parisian dates. There were two one-on-one dates, a group date, and a two-on-one date. And the group date was amazing! Arie Luyendyk Jr. and the women went to the Moulin Rouge, where the women got to learn to dance and get costumes. Arie then gave the group date rose to Bekah Martinez. They danced on stage together and, of course, kissed.
2. Krystal Nielson And Kendall Long Faced Off
This week featured the dreaded two-on-one date. And it went to Krystal Nielson and Kendall Long. And things got tense fast. Krystal told Arie Luyendyk Jr. she didn’t think Kendall was ready to fall in love and get married. Arie, of course, told Kendall, who confronted Krystal. She then gave this whole speech to Krystal about how she should let herself be imperfect and connect with other people more. But Krystal called her patronizing. Ugh.
3. Krystal Nielson Went Home
Everyone on The Bachelor found Krystal Nielson annoying, but there’s no denying she had a strong connection with Arie Luyendyk Jr. She met his family and he kept her around despite the drama. So she was very confident. Kendall Long didn’t have as much of a connection with Arie. Arie said he needed more time after the two-on-one date, but he decided to give the rose to Kendall after their dinner. Krystal was absolutely shocked. Sayonara, Krystal!
4. Jacqueline Trumbull And Arie Luyendyk Jr. Had An Intense Talk
Jacqueline Trumbull finally got a one-on-one date with Arie Luyendyk Jr. during Week 6 of The Bachelor. And things did not go according to plan. First, their car broke down. Then Jacqueline admitted how insecure she was. Arie admitted he was intimidated by her, and they had a really serious conversation about Jacqueline pursuing a PhD and if they had a future. Jacqueline was so upset because she was sure she was going home, but Arie gave her the rose!
5. Lauren Burnham Freaked Out
Lauren Burnham had the first one-on-one date on Week 6 of The Bachelor. It was a little bumpy because Lauren had a hard time opening up to Arie Luyendyk Jr. but Arie wound up giving her the rose. Despite having the rose, though, Lauren felt super-insecure and freaked out after the rose ceremony. She wasn’t happy about going to Tuscany. And she didn’t congratulate Jacqueline Trumbull on getting a rose. How is this going to go down?
