The countdown to a royal wedding is on! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement on Monday, Nov. 27. The gorgeous couple will live at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace for now.

"Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle's parents," Prince Harry's family said in a statement.

Kensington Palace also released a statement from Markle's parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland, saying: "We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together."

Prince Harry and Markle made an official appearance on Monday afternoon before a broadcast interview set to air at night. To debut her huge engagement ring, Markle chose a demure but stylish white coat by Line, knee-grazing P.A.R.O.S.H. dress and nude Aquazzura heels.

Kate Middleton is due to give birth to her third child in April. Then Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, will wed in May 2018 at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

"Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel," Kensington Palace said in a statement. "The Royal Family will pay for the wedding. Further details about the wedding will be announced in due course."

Harry’s communications secretary shared: “Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are delighted that the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle will be where they begin their lives together as a married couple. The couple of course want the day to be a special, celebratory moment for their friends and family. They also want the day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too and are currently working through ideas for how this might be achieved. This wedding, like all weddings, will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the characters of the bride and groom.”

Royal fans had a sense that an engagement was imminent when British bookmaker Ladbrokes stopped taking bets on when Harry and Markle would get engaged. The bookmaker said a wedding was all but certain.

Other clues? The royal couple made a public appearance at the Invictus Games in Toronto with Markle's mother. Markle quit her show Suits, packed up her belongings and moved to London.

For months, fans had been waiting for Prince Harry and the brunette beauty to take their romance public. And they finally did at the Invictus Games in Canada on Sept. 25. Looking completely smitten, William's brother and his then-girlfriend giggled, whispered in one another's ears and held hands as they walked.

Though Markle hardly looked like a princess in her white button-down and torn jeans, she was as stunning as ever. Now the question is when and where is the wedding.
