Meghan Markle is quickly becoming a style icon. But watch closely. She's also getting a swift makeover.
Gone are the thigh-high minis, plunging necklines and shimmering sequins. In their place? A below-the-knee hem, sky-high turtleneck and neutral hues. Stylish? Yes. Sexy? Not exactly.
The Queen has had her say. And the word around the palace is it's time to debut the new-and-improved version of Meghan Markle. Call it Brunette Beauty 2.0.
But don't worry. So far the U.K. is loving every bit of it. In fact, British women loved Markle's latest outfit so much that the look is flying off the shelves.
Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for a World AIDS Day event in Nottingham on Friday. And Markle looked gorgeous in a look designed by her best friend, Jessica Mulroney. The outfit, which included a Mackage navy cashmere coat, a Wolford turtleneck bodysuit, and a Joseph beige skirt, has already sold out.
This isn't the first time Markle's look has sparked a trend either. A maroon Aritzia minidress sold out after the actress wore it to the Invictus Games in September. And when Markle said in an interview that she loved vegan leather pants, online searches for that look rose 67 percent.
The former Suits actress also earned rave reviews for her World AIDS Day appearance, her first public outing with Prince Harry since becoming engaged. Photos show the couple talking and shaking hands with members of the crowd. One member of the audience recalled how both the Prince and his fiancée complimented her cute Santa gloves.
"He said 'great gloves' and pulled one down over my fingers," Julie Ball told BBC. "I said they're from Primark for £3. When Meghan walked past she said the same thing. She said, 'We have the same taste.' She is so nice. She is beautiful."
Another crowd member loved seeing Meghan Markle's PDA with her fiancé. "Meghan was touching Harry's arm and looking for where he was, you don't often see that," Colleen Cash said.
And, of course, Markle's popularity continues to rise. One poll found that she and Prince Harry are more popular than Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles.
Can't wait to see what Markle chooses to wear on her wedding day? You're not alone. Expect to see many knockoff bridal gowns soon after the big day.
