Already engaged, about to get engaged or planning their wedding? British bookmakers have stopped taking bets on whether Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will get married in 2018. The question is no longer if, but when.
British bookmaker Ladbrokes says it's certain. A rep for the company told Associated Press that an engagement "is to be confirmed imminently."
“Harry has made no secret of the fact that he wants to marry her,” a source told People recently. “She is the one.”
True to form, Buckingham Palace has not confirmed or denied that an engagement is coming. It simply said in a statement that it "would not give a running commentary on Harry's love life."
While it's unclear if an announcement will arrive soon, the royal couple has gotten increasingly more serious in the last few months. Markle recently wrapped filming on her hit series Suits, and she plans to move to London permanently.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET that the move marks a significant step in their relationship. "She is planning to make a full-time [move] over to the U.K," Nicholl said. "I would say this is probably the most significant thing to happen yet in their relationship."
But Nicholl also said that an engagement announcement may not happen for a few months. Us similarly reported that the official news won't come until January. "It gives Meghan some to get settled and will be a great start to 2018," a source said.
