Much to Full House fans' dismay, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren't interested in joining Fuller House Season 3. And they may never appear on the spinoff. Producer Jeff Franklin admitted that he has stopped asking the Olsen twins to make a cameo.
"I’ve stopped asking, really I kind of gave up," he told Us Weekly. "But when somebody rings a doorbell, the girls yell, 'It’s always open!' on the show so that’s kind of how we feel about the Olsen twins. The door is open. But I think we’ve gotten enough no's. We’re kind of done asking. But who knows? You never know in life. Who thought this whole thing would happen?"
Fans have been clamoring for one of the Olsen twins to appear on Fuller House since Season 1. But the pint-sized powerhouses have put their acting careers aside to focus on their fashion empire. Mary-Kate Olsen confessed they are no longer comfortable in front of a camera.

"We’re used to being on the other side of the camera and managing the process, so it’s hard for us to do photoshoots now," she told Net-a-Porter. "That’s why you have models."
Instead, the Olsen twins want to keep their lives as normal as possible. “I think that as it got bigger and bigger, when [running their Walmart brand] happened, you could see it getting maybe a little too big and overwhelming even, and the ability to remain normal, in the light of that fame and wealth and responsibility," their former publicist Michael Pagnotta told People.
So producers have had to work around Michelle's absence from Fuller House. The series premiere famously mentioned a joke about Michelle being in New York to work on her fashion empire (a nod to the Olsen twins' real-life careers).
Then, during Season 2's Thanksgiving episode, DJ (Candace Cameron-Bure) said that she hoped Michelle could join them for the holiday next year. Jesse (John Stamos) then looked at the camera and said, "Come, it will be fun." So it's clear that Stamos and the rest of the cast would welcome the Olsens back if they ever chose to return.
"I’m sure they would more than welcome them back if they wanted to [do it], but it’s been great for all of us to be reunited," Lori Loughlin (Becky) previously told The Huffington Post. "Who would have thought after over 25 years that we would actually be back shooting on the same soundstage that we did all those years ago?"
