Indeed, spoilers say that Scandal’s 100th episode will feature an alternate reality where Olivia, Mellie, and Cyrus never made that critical decision. And things will be really different.

The promo shows that in this alternate universe, Olivia has gotten married. Fitz obviously isn't President and isn't married to Mellie. But Mellie is wearing a wedding ring in the promo.

As for the other characters?  Abby still left her abusive husband in the alternate universe. And Guillermo Diaz told EW that Huck will have a “more peaceful” life.

According to EW, Quinn won't need to exist in the alternate reality. So Katie Lowes will play an entirely different character. David also won’t be Attorney General. Not much will change for Jake or Cyrus, though the circumstances of their lives may be different.

And the Scandal cast can’t wait to make 100 more episodes! Lowes told E! News she’d be interested in Scandal continuing for a long time. Cornelius Smith Jr. added, “I just want to go on record and say: Absolutely. Yeah, let’s say it.” Bellamy Young agreed they’d love to “do a thousand more” episodes but it was up to Shonda Rhimes.

So when will Scandal end? “I don’t know. We’ll see,” Rhimes told E! News “There is an end date, so … I’m just not going to tell you what it is.”

Rhimes also knows how she wants to end the series. But she had to change her plans following Donald Trump's election.

“We had a destination, and I don’t know if that’s our destination anymore,” Rhimes admitted. “The day after the election, the whole landscape changed. We had a Democratic President [when Scandal premiered], so I wanted to take a Republican President and make him human. Then our stories would be about what would happen if the wheels came off the bus and nobody was driving the bus. The problem now is the wheels have come off the bus, and nobody’s driving.”
